We are traveling a lot, by car, boat, air plane, bike etcetera. Traveling into space is not that common, but apparantly it will get more common in the future.
A lot of food that can be used in space are powders or products that has a long expire date. They didn’t solve this problem yet, but from November 2014 on astronaut scan enjoy a cop of coffee in space.
Argotec and the Italian brand Lavazza designed a coffee machine that works without gravity. It weights 20 kilograms, because it has a double protection. Astronauts have to drink the coffee through a straw, for safety reasons.
Do you think a cop of coffee is necessary in space? Apparantly a fresh cup of coffee can be important for astronauts.

As a traveler you probably took a nap on the weirdest places. I remember when I went to Budapest, I took the train from The Netherlands to Budapest, didn’t sleep at all, arrived very early in the morning and I wasn’t allowed to check in earlier then 2PM. So, I was walking in the neighborhood from my hostel and saw a park with a few benches and I decided to take a nap on one of them. It wasn’t really comfortable, but I was so tired that I could sleep anywhere.
I guess the two guys from The Netherlands that designed Google Naps have experienced this as well. They made a parody from Google Maps. With the Google Naps you can find the best places to sleep. This could be on somebody’s couch, somewhere in a park, on a bench etcetera. When you found a good spot to sleep, you can add it to the Google Naps as well. You can find places to sleep all over the world via Google Naps: Portugal, China, Indonesia, South-Africa and America. Ofcourse the most places to sleep on Google Naps you’ll find in the big cities in The Netherlands.
I guess the two designers where a little bit afraid that Google wouldn’t appreciate Google Naps so they added a note on the Google Naps tool for the founders of Google.
“Hello, please don’t be mad this is just a joke, a parody. We don’t mean to damage your brand or anything, we just want to bring a smile on the faces of Google fans. So please don’t take this to court, we only have a few hundred Euros in the bank. And we also don’t want to go to jail because we’re too busy with other things at the moment. But whenever you are in the Netherlands you can have a nap on our couch if you want, just e-mail us: email@example.com. We can also make coffee and bake eggs if you like that (for a small price).”
Do you want to search for a nice bench to sleep on? Go to http://www.googlenaps.info/ to find a perfect spot.
When I was surfing on the internet, I ran into this quote, it made me think about it and I made the conclusion that I agree with this quote. Last semester I studies in Bangkok. The university wasn’t that good and I didn’t learn that much from it. But from living in Bangkok, Thailand, experiencing their daily lives, living in a other culture I learned so much. I learned things I cannot learn in school, I have to experience it myself.
What do you think? Do you think exploring the world is important?
Are you a fan of scavenger hunts? Then this next post would be interesting for you!
A little story Garret Kendrick made to explain what the GPS Adventure Box is:
It is your 25th wedding anniversary and your spouse hands you a nice little wooden box. The box is locked shut. On the top of the box is a small LCD screen and a simple button. You press the button and the LCD screen comes to life. It displays… “Go to where we first met.” You take the box to that location and press the button. It now displays “Now go to where we had our first date.” You take the box to that location and press the button. The display now reads “I’ll see you at home.” When you get home, you notice a romantic dinner for two has been prepared and your spouse sitting with a wide grin. You press the button on the box and you hear a “click”. The box is now unlocked and you open it to find a stunning piece of jewelry inside.
As this story explains, the GPS Adventure Box is a Box to make scavenger hunts more interesting. There is a small LCD sceen on it an a button so you know what to do. When you think you are at the right place, you push the button and it tells you where to go next. Watch the video below for more information, or go to http://gpsadventurebox.com/.
